Player Rankings

This is the Player Rankings, where players are ranked based on their performance in the Ballon d'Or (1956-1990) and The Best FIFA Men's Player (1991 onwards).

Additionally, there is a rule stating that the Player of the Century award counts toward the Player Rankings for players who began their careers before the first Ballon d'Or in 1956, as well as for non-European players who started after 1956 or retired before 1990. This rule was introduced to improve the accuracy of the ranking, as no award existed before 1956 and, until 1990, the Ballon d'Or was only awarded to European players.
